My favorite television show is....wait for it...drumroll please....Inside the Actors Studio. Yeah, not The Hills, Desperate Housewives, or Dirty Sexy Money. Inside the Actors Studio. It is the only show that I simply sit and watch. Sometimes I'll eat and drink, but I can't have any outside distractions. I can't check blogs, do homework, file my nails, paint my nails, talk to other people, etc. I just concentrate on the actor, their responses, etc. I'm not sure why this is. I think part of it is that I have a huge appreciation for actors and what they do. Not everyone can do what they do and do it well. I also love the fact that it's reality TV, but it's more realistic to me than any other reality TV show that exists. Excluding sports of course. There's something so raw, and open, and vulnerable about the whole thing.
My new favorite (well, second favorite really) television show is Pushing Daisies. Now I'm not sure how many viewers this show gets each week. It doesn't seem to be something that the average American would like to watch, but I'm not an average American. This show is good. I mean, the concept of waking up dead people to find out how they died and collect the reward is pure genius. Everyone wants to ask the dead questions, especially in suspicious deaths, and everyone likes to collect the reward. I'd like to think that our crime rate would decrease immensely if morgues across the country could employ people like the Pie Maker. I mean, your chances of getting caught would be astronomical. You'd have to be really creative with your crime. Not that I'm advocating killing people or anything. I love the storyline about the Pie maker and Chuck. Two people longing to touch each other, knowing they can't, and using plastic barriers to help out...so smart! The characters interact with each other well. I love the set. It's futuristic with a hint of Lewis Carroll. But, my favorite part of the whole show is the narrator. I love his voice. I could listen to it all day. Perhaps I really like the show because it reminds me of British mystery movies. British mystery movies are different than American ones; you have to think differently in British movies. This television show makes me think differently. It's different from the norm, and different from the norm is good.
On a completely different note, my legs are so sore. My hamstrings anyway. Working out when you're pissed off is good because it motivates you, but I think I was overly motivated. My hamstrings are still tight. I guess tomorrow will be an easy leg day. I'll do a little bit of calf work, but mainly cardio. I did talk to one of the trainers yesterday to see if I could buy some weekly sessions. I miss Leo, and I've reached a plateau and I don't want to be on a plateau. I want to be going down a steep incline. So we'll see what I do with that. I'm supposed to be watching my spending habits, and this would definitely qualify as an unnecessary expense, but it'd be very helpful. I should just make friends with one of the cute guys at the gym and get him to train me. ;-)
