It cost me $564 to get my taxes done this year, because of DOMA and Prop 8. If those two things weren't there, I'd make an honest woman of DataWolf, and do the (joint) taxes myself for a cost of ~$150.
As a straight, married woman, I don't understand what the big deal is re: gay marriage. You marrying DataWolf wouldn't affect my marriage at all, and anyone who says otherwise is in serious need of a reality check. The only reason I can think of not to support gay marriage would be if somehow it meant that straight marriages/relationships were now illegal, and everyone must be with/marry someone of the same sex. But since no one (to my knowledge) is even suggesting that... yeah. I'm for it 110%, and I think it's a crime you can't marry, and that my cousin can't marry her partner. It sucks.
