good questions, very good questions indeed. there certainly is something about Kahlan not wanting to be touched... and I promise you'll eventually learn why. but by now I think you know that I'm all secretive about that part xD and I don't even know why.
Cara has another sneaky way of checking Kahlan's ribs though that does not involve touching :P what can I say?

Ms.Blackbelt!! I would think that Kahlan would welcome Cara checking her ribs to make sure it was not something more serious. Could she be hiding more then just bruises. Well I most certainly look forward to much more. Great writing as always.

Aww, Kahlan is such a badass... Even Cara can´t believe she´s knocking out three guys at once :) Very sweet how Cara acts around her; so uncertain, nervous of her own feelings.
Well, I think they *coughs - we- coughs* need this dinner date to finally get them hop over their uncertainties... if only a little... I mean, to be sure she´s fine Cara needs to have a closer look on Kahlan´s bruises. Doesn´t she??? *grins widely*

Kahlan is a badass! and I really like it when she goes all HBIC. sometimes she needs someone to pick her up from the ground but sometimes she can just take care of things herself, isn't that great? ;P
and yes the dinner will certainly take them a few steps in the right direction and Cara will check on Kahlan's bruises... but she is all sneaky about it. hehe.
