I hear the most news about Ohio and Pennsylvania. North Carolina is only in the news because it usually goes Republican, but might go Democrat this time. I don't know about Tennessee...is it really that close there? I was a bit annoyed because McCain essentially conceded Michigan and pulled out several weeks ago - it's just that Michigan could use the attention, since we've been in a one-state recession for years already. :-/

No, the election is probably not close in Tennessee, except for the wishful thinking of every Democrat in the state. However, I will be ecstatic if Georgia and North Carolina, our neighboring states, go Blue.
I don't think anyone will ever understand why McCain pulled out of Michigan. I think that's a head-scratcher for both sides, and will be discussed in numerous books for years to come as a strategic mistake. It's such a big and diverse state, with just as many large cities as Ohio. I'm still baffled by it and I've never read a good reason for them pulling out.
It would be nice to see Michigan being wooed by the candidates the way Ohio and Pennsylvania are.
