Of course, Tumblr Exploded.

It's interesting that they mention that after reading the Beta surveys they changed the direction of the website and "moved to an entirely new platform set up." What this might mean is anyone's guess. Less dueling - ( Read more... )

Every thing associated with J K Rowling has to involve anticipation. Why not just wait, open the site, send out the emails and announce, "It's Open Folks." I'm really getting tired of this Marketing BS. James Paterson just releases his new book and then starts writing his next book. He spends his time writing, not marketing.

I can't speak to what they would mean about "changing direction" but "platform" almost certainly refers to the code backend. Sounds like they might have made some code design choices that didn't scale well (i.e. what works great on a userbase of 100 may totally collapse under 1,000,000) and needed to fix that.

Well I'd like to have some faith. To me, early April is the first 10 days, but it could stretch until April 14-15 too. So the site hasn't broken its promise yet, which is very good. I don't mind if they wait until the end of the deadline, especially since they haven't fixed all the glitches yet, and you all know that people would complain if they were let in a site that was still glitching up.

P.S. Was it TL;Dr?, also sorry for being anonymous, I don't really care about LiveJournal enough to register.
