Just Give Alan Rickman All the Awards ... NOWprincessofsnarkJuly 26 2011, 00:54:56 UTC
Yes, he does deserve all of the awards out there, and then some. Let's see, there's the Golden Globes, BAFTA, Oscar, People's Choice, and a raft of other.
And, Kleenex, alone, should thank him for boosting sales of tissues for moviegoers.
What a flawless and fantastic performance! But, we knew that.
Oh, what a good time to be a Snape and Alan Rickman fan. A real doubleheader!!
Ohhhhh. To be the make up/wig person in that picture *drool*
Alan Rickman does not deserve an oscar. The Oscar deserves to have an Alan Rickman.
*snerk* Is this going to turn into some kind of Chuck-Norris-jokes-esque meme? (Pretty sure I've already seen the Snape-themed jokes of that style out there.)
Snape's relationship with Harry's parents James and Lily Potter goes under the microscope
Hrm. That's a bit generous. It wasn't the scandalous abridging that they did to SWM, but it still seemed to go by awfully fast with detail missing. Having read the other remarks about how they edited it that way because otherwise it felt too expository, I can tell you I would have been fine with more exposition! I particularly missed the scenes with Lily and Severus as teenagers.

Yes! Snape is the new Chuck Norris, LOL.
I think all of us would have loved more scenes in Prince's Tale. I don't think Yates wanted to show Snape/Lily as teenagers for some reason. Probably just as well considering the awkwardness of Harry/Ginny in the movies.

I completely agree with all of those reviews. Alan Rickman is one of those rare actors who give their entire heart to a performance and completely pull you into the story, no matter how small. Yet he's never been respected by the Academy, so I won't hold my breath, even though his final moments as Snape were beyond Oscar-worthy.
