Believe it or not, there are other people in Fandom who quote Harry's line from the DH Epilogue and believe it means what we think it means

Thank you and Treacle both for the posting that video. I really like MoM and their music, and it's a wonderful background for all of the vaired illustrations of Professor Snape.
I think anyone who read some of the books before seeing the first movie probably had their own image of what Snape looked like. I know I did, and it wasn't Alan Rickman. I am able to separate "book-Snape" from "movie-Snape" the same way I'm able to separate Alan Rickman from Severus Snape. In my humble opinion, I think that 99.9% of the readers of this LJ site are able to do so as well. The other .1% are the loonies who wander in and can't even tell day from night.

Here is my favorite picture of Snape, and it's nothing like Rickman. It's by Perselus on Deviantart. And what some people don't understand is that many of the best artists request that fans NOT use their work in icons, which is why most of my Snape icons are of AR. I would use artwork if it was available for icons, but I'm not going to make my favorite artists angry over that.

That's more what I pictured Severus looking like...maybe just a bit sadder eyes. I think he has a look that shows a deep, deep loss. I think that is what Harry saw when he thought that Snape's eyes didn't have the warmth or sparkle that Hagrid's did. They didn't. At that time he is still carrying a wound that has not healed, and will not completely heal until he has settled all of his accounts.
I think Harry saw a different look in his eyes in the Shrieking Shack just before he died. A look of peace because he had finally set things as right as he could. It's a shame Severus didn't know that Harry survived. I think that was probably a huge ache in his heart to know that Lily's sacrifice and all of his years of protecting Harry had been for him to die. But, as he, himself was dying, I think he had accepted Harry's death as inevitable and kenew that he had done everything that he could for as long as he could.
