J. K. Rowling Goes Fashionably Slytherin At Bafta Awards

Feb 13, 2011 23:55

I don't usually do two JKR posts in a row, but JKR's fashion statement at the Bafta's tonight is too good to pass up. Plus I've been insulted for being "too Slytherin" several times this week, so to see JKR proudly wearing faux-snakeskin cheers me up. I wonder if she was wearing the snake shoes and jewelry also? LOL

I will update when I find out ( Read more... )

Is there such a thing as "too Slytherin"? And who dares to attempt so feeble a calumny? I'll wax their heads and use them to lubricate the hinges on the Chamber's doors, so I will.

Look at cute little Emma back there with Rupert! As for JKR, she really needs to find a dress that fits better... that baggy bodice does very little for her...

Yes, I don't really like it except for the python print. :)

Expensive doesn't make it attractive. It's just not doing a damn thing for her.

looks a bit like she skinned Nagini herself with bare hands.

I know! It's like something only Bellatrix would wear. LOL

Actually, I think I found the source - Lanvin of France: Here

Not possible. Vera Wang used Nagini for my extra large tote.

"I've got several things at hands at once......"

that is NOT a good sign.
that just could mean she can't set her teeth in one subject and drag it to a close, being distracted by a lot of halffinished ideas that don't satisfy.

Yeah, I was telling someone last night that either she is bending the truth slightly or she just can't talk about it due to some publicity campaign that is happening later this year along with the release of the last DH movie.

What happened to the children's book she was writing last year? Or the adult novel? Hmmm....

If the adult novel doesn't have a tall, slender, darkly-attired man with long black hair and a big nose, I can't be bothered...

The dress looked great when she was sitting, but when she stood up, it did nothing for her. It looked matronly, which is hard to accomplish with a python print. Not at all in the same class as her famous serpent sandals.

Hmmmm, all these serpents - Come over to the Slytherin side, Jo. You know you want to. ;D

It's fascinating, isn't it? Actions speak louder than her anti-Slytherin words. LOL

I saw an article from the Bafta awards with a picture of JKR hugging Emma Watson, and all I could think of was that in the HP books no Slytherin-looking woman in a snake dress would ever get away with hugging Hermione. So anti-canon!

And JKR told a reporter that Emmas was "like a daughter" to her, but that wouldn't happen in the books either because no Slytherin could possibly have a Gryffindor child. Isn't that why so many people believe Snape couldn't have cared about Harry at all - he was a Slytherin and Harry was a Gryffindor?

Harry hated Andromeda Tonks on sight because she looked like Bellatrix although her daughter was his friend and a Hufflepuff. *eyeroll*

Emma looks tired or like she really wants to get away from the lady in the poorly fitting dress...
