Is everyone else in the Eastern U.S. sick of the weather? Do I see lots of hands raised? Of course!

That's a six-foot long board on the ground by the side of the garden, so the snake is about 4 feet long! But it was so docile that we easily could have picked it up - not aggressive at all.
Yes, I really am writing. I had a little change in my timeline that threw me off so I had to rewrite some scenes surrounding the old lady's funeral, but I've just about got that straightened out. I also had to research and rewrite a scene about taking care of horses and mucking out their stalls - I realized that a trip to Tractor Supply wasn't enough research, LOL. Also, my information about horses comes from helping a childhood friend with her horse about 35 years ago and things have changed since then.

Not that much - horses are still pretty low-tech. But some people use rubber stall liners and wood pellets instead of straw. It turns out lots of people in my area use sawdust which is really cheap and easy to shovel, plus it deodorizes. I wanted to emphasize the high-cost of keeping horses and ways to save money.
I'm obsessing over these little things way too much, of course. *LOL*
