I just had a very loud LOL moment after submitting a bit of Mary Russell/Sherlock Holmes (Laurie R. King) fanfic that I wrote several years ago. I write like DAN BROWN!? Well, that's certainly verification of the quality of HIS writing!
from what I read the oldest coins date from about 50 years after the death of Septimus Severus, it's from the period between Diocliatian and Constantine the Great. the Roman Empire looked complete different then, it was no longer purely Rome-orientated and the provinces had much more power on their own. "barbarian" influence was on the rise as great part of the reorginased army was no longer "roman", due to lack of manpower. Moreover the slave-based economy was changing because there were less and less slaves available into an economy where farmers became bounded to the ground in servitude
That's what I got from the article, that it was after the time of Severus. But there was a great variety of coins in that bag - wouldn't you love to be able to look through them? I hope they put a catalog online or something.

I got Rowling, in the author quiz. Both for Snape fanfics (perhaps to be expected, that!) and some original fiction written before HP was, LOL.
