I can think of worse things than having a day to celebrate a character from books (like Blooms Day, June 16 for Joyce's 'Ulysses') even if I have some issues with the whole "Potter" saga. Whether they like or dislike him, at least Snape gets people talking, and thinking...so that's worth having a green frosted cupcake (for Slytherin colors.) Cheers!
I'm sure that widget is automated and we can't draw any conclusion from it, but the smartarse part of me (...part?) wants to say "Sooo... she's wishing a happy birthday to a man she'd otherwise have us believe is dead? That's interview canon at least!"
But that voice is the main reason Rickman is the perfect Snape (for me - altho' a younger Rickman would have been even better). The 'voice' is truly a major part of Snape's persona. Every bit as much as the big nose, lank hair and billowy robes. I must admit that from the moment I first read the First Potions Speech, I imagined it in Rickman's voice. I was very happy when they cast Rickman as Snape.
RedWitch: Snape's voice in the books is described as "silky" and "smooth." :) So I agree with Hwyla that beyond the nose, AR's voice is what makes him the perfect Snape.
