Ohhhhhh, you know...Flag Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, all that overblown "USA! USA!" crap. I love my country, but I don't like it very much right now! XP And for all their talk, the flag doesn't really represent anything but marketing and rampant, unchecked capitalism. So I think burning it on those "flag-heavy" holidays is a wonderful representation of freedom of speech! ^_^ Of course...I don't want to go to jail, so I'm only a rebel in my iconage...*looks around shiftily*
*nods emphatically* Exactly!! For really special occasions when the US has done something spectacular (like win the World Cup, which will never happen, but you know...), then I don't have a problem with people running around in red white & blue chanting our country's name. But on holidays? Working at Hobby Lobby really pointed out the idiocy of it to me. During any holiday where a flag might have been appropriate, suddenly one whole section of our store would be nothing but US Flag colors, patterns...Uncle Sam statues, t-shirts, eagle patterns, statues, *gag* It's enough to make your eyes bleed!
hey, the other day when i was doing my search for new pics for icons....i came across this one too and was going to save it for around easter time....only, i didn't add the words...but still i likes!! genious minds think alike...haha!! :-)
