I'm so up in the air about Fringe, but I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that sorta forgets the details of each episode. Doesn't help that I could care less about the female lead. >_<
I wasn't too impressed with The Office. About all the really excited me was Ryan showing back up and how badly Michael botched his attempts at scoring.
The female lead in Fringe completely disinterests me. She's just feels cold to me, which sucks, because her story isn't totally bad. I hope that this pattern business becomes more prominent every episode. If the producers want to create a show that is good for both casual and obsessive viewers, they're kind of failing, because I'm only interested in the arcs, not the MotW. So either strengthen the later, or take a more serialized format.
The pattern is definitely what keeps me going. I'm curious about the little nuggets they toss in, so it'd be nice if they would just get down to business and let us hear some of the stuff we want to hear.
Heroes (late): Definitely mindless fun. I'm glad the action's moving a lot faster than it was last season. Plenty of "Wait, WHAT?!" moments for me too- both of surprise/shock and of sheer confusion, so that's a mixed bag. Also, Mohinder's being stupid and there still remains a few weird plot gaps from all the time travelling (i.e. future Peter's scar, and if he changes the present, wouldn't he cease to exist the way he does? Also, future Claire using a gun on Peter, who can heal). I'm guessing the suspension of belief is approaching Prison Break levels, but this just seems a little more fun to watch. I'm a little disappointed to hear that Monica and Micah are getting vastly reduced roles though, and possibly Elle too. Also, some new powers would be nice, instead of recycling flight, electricity, cryokinesis, and future-sight
( ... )
I find it funny that Heroes is requiring more suspension of disbelief, seeing as it is about people with superpowers. Heh. But I see your point about letting things slide more often. I stopped watching Prison Break two break-outs ago, so I can't really say if it's reached that level of suspension, but if PB picked up convicts with powers, than I'd agree with you.
I'm not fully sold on the new PI on House. I know that if the character is successful, he may be spun off onto his own show. I'm not sure if he's that strong, but it is only one episode. I'll check back if House's platonic prostitute is more awesome next week.
