I'm thinking “Heavy In Your Arms by Florence + The Machine. She has a deeper/darker voice than most singers, not exactly like Amy Lee of course but she's definitely not a screechy pop-singer. And I also I think this song fits your YOU PREFER and YOU ARE sections pretty well.
