Excavators unearth a huge Roman shipyard of 117 AD

It was a super large shipbuilding facility in Portus, an ancient port of Rome. This port of Protus was one of the main gateways that linked Rome to the Mediterranean during the Roman period. The shipyard had been built by the Romans in around the 117 AD - the excavated remains are 150 meters long, 60 meters wide and stand 5-stories high. Larger ( Read more... )
