So the migraine fairy is visiting, and if I'm going to suffer, the boys had damned well better suffer with me. :P

I've read a couple of great stories with migraines/headaches in them (*waves to dante_s_hell, and pixymisa), and there are some others out there that I read and then lost the link to ( Read more... )

*huuuuuuugs*

I had one yesterday and I'm still recovering (kinda manic right now from all the crap I'm on, actually, LOL). I feel your pain, bb, and I hope you feel better.

Bleh, is all I can say.

I'm better now than I used to be. I started getting migraines when I was seven or eight, and for a while I was getting two or more a week. Now I can count the ones I get in a year on the fingers of one hand.

I hope you're feeling better too! Migraines suck.

J2 Hurt/Comfort Indulgence 1: Headache by embroiderama, which has Jensen on set with a migraine.

Hope yours gets better soon.

Oh hon *huggles* I get those periodically :( Soooo not fun. Do you get sparkly lights and a traveling blindspot sometimes?

I do get an aura, but it goes with fuzzy vision, flashes of light, and coloured spots.

In fact, the coloured spots were something I got all the time (aura without the migraine), to the point that when the neurologist asked me about them (I was eight), I kind of blinked at him and said: "You mean not everybody sees those?" and he laughed. :D

:( I get flashing lights from time to time, and occasionally sparks that flit through my vision that look like the edge of the blind spot (the aura I believe). Sometimes I get it like a snake through my vision that just blurs it and makes it kind of like bright lights and othertimes (more often) I get a black spot surrounded by the lights/blurry.

I like to do nothing but curl up and sleep when I get these, even with medication.

When I was playing WoW, I once raided with my eyes shut (Hey I was pally tank ... and only one idiot mage died.) Normally I just go hide under the covers and call in sick unless I have an exam or an important meeting thing.

Mine have improved by leaps and bounds over the years. Between the ages of eight and twenty they were pretty much crippling: it was go hide in my room with the curtains drawn and sleep anywhere from five hours to a whole day, and sometimes longer.

Now I can take my meds, sleep for an hour or so, and generally be functional for the rest of the time. Not always. I also get far fewer migraines than before. A handful a year, tops, whereas before I used to get two a week.

Playing WoW with your eyes closed? That's pretty hardcore. :D

Aww, thanks! I am feeling lots better. Meds + sleep + subsequent exercise are pretty much the ticket for making the migraines go away.
