It's not a happy 'verse, but I do like Renegade a lot. :)

This 'verse is sure at the hurt end of h/c, but the c is there, I think. And I think Cas actually feels a bit less angry to me in this installment, as though he's begun to work through things a little. I love the tiny bits of wry humor they manage in all the bleakness, and the baseline fear of losing the only thing that they have (if Cas does turn out to be semi-immortal, that would be a horrifying future for him).

Yeah, "bleak" doesn't begin to describe it, but I never intended it to be hopeless. Sam and Cas might think it is, but author knows best. :)

I like the idea of Cas being trapped in a Sysiphian-type penance for all of eternity (Sam too, for that matter, but in a different context). It's horrifying and poetic and terrible and that's probably why I like it so much.

*beams*

*smishes you back*

I do enjoy making it super bleak precisely for those more tender moments.

Also, how did I miss that story of yours? (Did you catch the reference to my other End 'verse hypothermia fic? It was one you prompted too, back in the day!)
