Aww, this was cute and awesome! Loved that Danny was still yelling at Steve, even when he was hurt. I'm glad Steve knew what to do with him, too!

And yay for Steve realizing he needs Steve. And the last sentence was adorable!

Steve totally needs Danny like breathing. Apparently, though, it takes mortal peril for him to realize these things. ;)

And Danny will yell at Steve as long as there is breath in his body. It's the way of the universe.

This has everything! Action-adventure, h/c, pitch-perfect dialogue, plot, h/c, characters who are colorfully in-character, vivid descriptions, and did I mention h/c? [swoons]

You totally nailed Danny's wry humour, and Steve was suitably badass outside, and yet gentle inside.
And for someone who lives in Canada you did a great job of conjuring up Hawaii.

Thank you so much! Canada is pretty far removed from Hawaii (there's still snow outside, dammit), so I'm glad you felt I did it justice. :)

This was a lot of fun to write, mostly because Steve and Danny have fantastic chemistry. :D

A wonderful ending!

I liked that underneath all of their banter, you could see how much Steve and Danny cared for each other and how truly worried Steve was.

“We are bonding. You just do it quietly, okay?” A truly great line and one I bet Steve wishes he could say all the time.

I bet Steve *does* wish he could get Danny to be quiet more often. I think Danny has a way of giving him regular reality checks he'd rather not receive. ;)

Ohhh, I was just craving some plotty, action-y fic and this totally hit the spot. You've got a bit of everything in here, some lovely H/C and Danny bitching and Steve being all badass and worried in equal part (actually probably more worried than badass) and best of all it was a decent length! Loved this!
