Damn. I think common sense may have to prevail.

I've been fighting with the werewolfbigbang for months now. I think I finally got the story to gel in my head, but it's due Friday, and work is kicking my ass these days. I'm also leaving Friday morning for a three-day trip. I have no time to get it all written. I can probably reach the 10K minimum before then, but the story won't be finished ( Read more... )

writing is hard!, writing projects, kamikazeremix 2010, ratherastory can be reasonable sometimes, werewolf bigbang 2010

It's hard juggling RL and fandom. I've been having that trouble myself. Still, dropping out to preserve the integrity of the story is much better than posting a rush job. We'll still be here, waiting to read.

Take care and good luck!

Yeah. It's the first time I'll have to default on a challenge, but I think in the end it'll be worth it.

I'm disappointed, but I'll live.

Hey, you are like the world's most productive author, you're allowed to give yourself a break. As long as you still write a Fusion sequel, of course. And impaled!Sam. And sick!claustrophobic!Sam. And the werewolf!fic, just a little later. And the reawoken!Hell!Dean fic sounds really cool. And maybe a few more. Just, oh, this week or next. No pressure.

Seriously, we'll be delighted to read it at leisure, and good luck with the RL stuff and all. We can totally keep the grabby hands in abeyance.

Eesh, don't remind me. I have quite a few no-definite-deadline things that are all simmering simultaneously (the claustrophobic!Sam one is refusing to come together in a way I like), and if I exclude the werewolf big bang, a handful of commitments with deadlines. Well, you've seen my list. :P It 's a good thing I enjoy writing, otherwise I'd be drowning in fic.

Better to finish it when it's finished, and not make yourself crazy

That's what I figured. I like the story, I want to finish it, but at this point I'd be producing something sub-par, and I don't want that at all.
