revising my internal "best of pairing smooshes" list...

Apr 21, 2009 03:50

Up to now I've thought that "Snermione" was the most unfortunate smooshed pairing name I've seen "in the wild" (i.e. used by someone unironically just to name the pairing rather than in posts mocking the most hilarious potential name combinations), but I think I may have to revise this in light of having just seen "Spirk" on a story search. I'm not ( Read more... )

I'm holding out for "Spork".

I can't figure out if Snermione is worse than Snupin (which I keep mistyping as "Snupid" ... oh dear). Actually, any pairing with Snape is pretty much doomed to create incredibly silly smoosh-names.

I think I'm finding "Spirk" worse, because "Spork" (just like "Kock") would have some built in irony, even when not used for outright mockery. Spirk lacks that. And I totally agree on the Snape smooshes, they all populate the top list rankings (rather like Eastern bloc athletes used to be in Olympics...), yet for some reason the "S" at the beginning seems to be a sound very popular for smooshes. Snapledore is another good example, that one kind of sounds like a really disgusting sports drink, IMO.

Yeah. Not quite on the goatsx level of things you wished you hadn't seen on the internet, but still.

Parrish/Lorne aka Porne remains my favourite. However seeing Kirk/Spock as anything other than K/S makes me want to spork my eye out.

Well, if you chose Spork instead of Spirk for your smoosh that would be a great fit then? *snickers* But yeah, I don't get it either. It's not even shorter when you type.
