are there LJ fanart indexes like fic indexes?

Some recent posts brought the really useful dcfic_index to my attention again, and I found myself wondering whether there are similar projects to collect links to the comic fanart posted on LJ? A while ago when I was looking for a piece of comic fanart I'd seen, I noticed that comics_fanart for example doesn't use memories or tags, which makes it much harder to find older ( Read more... )

You're right! That would be cool! Which is to say, I know of no such project. Maybe del.icio.us tagging could be done? I once whined until Mael combed titans_together for all of the boys in dresses pics. (Just hit F5 until LJ stops pretending it doesn't know what you mean.)

Is del.icio.us more convenient than LJ memories? I've only recently gotten an account there and haven't really used it a lot yet. I was thinking of a community because as I understand it that way more than one person could add memories, so the work could be split. OTOH LJ memories are wonky a lot.

Well, anyone with an account could add a unique tag to fanart they found, like ljfanart, and then it would appear at del.icio.us/tags/ljfanart. Or at least, that's my understanding. But ...actually, let me look around at social bookmarking options to see if there's a better one, if you're interested in actually doing this.

Yeah, but what I want is to have an index, where the art will be listed in categories, like it is in the fic indexes. I mean, something that makes it easier to find art based on characters, genres and pairings and such. That is, what I *really* want is obviously a searchable database that would work like a fiction archive just with links to the art instead, where this link list can be updated by several people, which probably could be done by customizing one of those efiction content management systems, like some people do for their rec pages, but since I'm lazy I'd prefer to go with an existing link management system that allows something close to that.
