All day yesterday there appeared these avatars on my f-list which were made with this generator, and frankly I think they look kind of crappy, and I don't even like manga-style. Yet in a fairly irrational response I started to feel like I missed some fun, so I checked out the generator, but I actually didn't have much fun playing, because really

Yeah, especially as Impulse Bart did have a bit of a manga feel, and his hair is kind of similar to what I've draw there. Though for a Bart icon think I'd go with the goggle-look. Hmm, maybe I *should* make a Bart icon one of these days...

Heh. I have to admit that I just couldn't resist poking fun at these avatars a little bit, because I was seeing them all day, and despite the clothes they all looked the same to me. And while some of these generators produce okay looking things (like the one at dookyweb that produces these floating cartoonheads? at least that one has a lot of options, so that the avatars all look noticeably different), a lot really make crappy looking images. It always boggles me when I see one of those things used in actual icon images.

I get that there's some fun with wasting time with the virtual equivalent of paper dolls, but I thought that one was rather boring. You know, talking about such paper dolls, now I totally want a generator to create your personal superhero slash OTP picture, like you'd get the basic form of two typical superhero guys in a (semi-) explicit position, and then you can change skin color, hair etc, and then add costume items, like tights, masks and such... So it would be like a crack OTP generator, only with pictures. :D

See, it's just very weird for me to see an anime character with such a big nose. Anime characters should have tiny noses! And yet, then it wouldn't be a Rat Creature at all! *cognitive dissonance*

Manga style is apparently all about the nose-hate (I mean you can have eyes that aren't big and round sometimes, but I have yet to see a large nose), but most comics I loved as a kid gave the lovable characters big round noses, like Asterix or Gaston, or the Marsipulami or the smurfs... *g*

But I can see where your cognitive dissonance is coming from.
