Hi! I know only a few people have seen voiceless009 DS Vid so far, so I wanted to rec it on ds_noticeboard because it’s *that* awesome and hilarious and so due South. And the fact that not many people have seen it? Is a crime. However, is there some kind of etiquette or rat jam rules that would be broken if I *did* post the vid rec?

Can you tell I’m a lurker?! ^_~ I’ve been in DS fandom a year now and I’m only just discovering this whole actually-interacting-with-people-thing ^_~

I agree - it is an excellent vid, and more people should watch it! It doesn't violate any of our rat jam rules to post a rec - the only thing I might suggest is asking voiceless009 first, because some people are kind of funny about being recced. But it is more than OK from our end!! :o)

And YAY for delurking! I was a proud lurker for years myself, so I understand the whole actually-interacting-with-people bit. *twirls you around* Thank you for coming out to play with us!

Heee! Twirling = love! :D

Thank you so much for the tip! I rather have more enthusiasm for vids than is probably healthy, so much so that I started putting together a huge rec list of DS vids with plenty of blithering and squee. I was thinking of maybe posting a link to it to noticeboard or another comm, but I wasn’t sure if I should go ask everyone first before I post... Therefore, I guess the answer to that pondering thought would be yes, always ask first, just to make sure.

When you say people are funny about it, is it because of bandwidth issues as far as downloading vids etc or do people feel as though its just generally polite to ask first before reccing in a large public community?

*blushes* Sorry that I can't seem to type! No, some people are funny about things that they produce for comment fic type commitments like this, because they are unbetaed, and usually thrown together in a short amount of time. I usually assume that anything else is fair game for reccing, because they had as much time as they wanted to produce/edit/polish it for public consumption, but I always like to ask for reccing things from challenges like this, just in case they are planning on polishing it up and re-publishing it later.

And YAY for vid recs! I also have an obsession with vids that is probably quite larger than it should be, so I really look forward to seeing your recs!!
