I'm going to be uncle

My brother is also getting married.  Yes, they are related, but she's cool and they're both very fond of each other so it's more a speeding up of something my brother is crazy resistant to rather than a "this is a bad idea... NO NO NO!!!"

He's still freaking out though.

I am now going to use 5 condom, 3 birth control pills, the shot, the patch, the ( Read more... )

well, we're ALL related in SOME way :)

Your show needs to toss the laugh track. That drove me nuts until I finally was able to ignore it.

Congratulations! So, like, how are the parents reacting, if you've heard from them?

They are a bit... in shock, I think. I haven't talked to them, but Geo did.

My mom will get over it because she's REALLY wanted a grandkid... of course it'll be in seattle, so she'll be bummed about that, but still. At the rate we were all going she'd probably have never seen one!

My dad will probably be a prick, because that's what he does. Then he'll preach about god or something, then he'll accept it because it's his grandkid too. Of course, he was a shitty dad so I'm not sure being a grandfather will be any better.

I haven't talked to them though. They're too busy doing marriage encounter stuff to hang with their sons who are visiting from Seattle and Salt Lake.

I didn't realize Pablo lived in Seattle! That's super cool, though. I am excited for your family, even if your Dad will be a prick about it. Honestly, that was my first question, "So, how long will it take him to get over it?"

Also, the whole marriage encounter thing really gets my goat.

No kidding. It's the blind leading the blind. Frankly, I don't care what blind people do, but this is something that is more important to them than their family, and that's wrong to me.

It's pablo, so I'm sure he'll be over it quickly. Pablo is easily my dad's favorite as he is his first son.
