Oh my goodness I know how you feel. I want to paint my walls SO BADLY but my landlord won't let me, aside from the bedroom. He agreed it was a horrible color so I was able to paint over it. I'm so addicted to ApartmentTherapy and all their cool ideas and fixes and color palettes. X(

I also want to install cat-shelves along the ceiling but for now it is a pipe dream. SOMEDAY. *fistshake*

In the meantime, those are gorgeous lanterns. I'm sure they make the room pop!

I really, really wish we could paint our walls and do crazy stuff, but we have installed shelving and all kinds of "add-ons" for our apartment, up to the point that we can't do much else. I just look forward to being able to do whatever I want with our future home. I understand feeling like you can't do all you want. Renting = crappy. I'm addicted to Design*Sponge (you should look, but you'll get addicted) and Apartment Therapy and Ikea Hacker and all the other "let's modify your surroundings" websites. hehe.

I want to do cat-shelves too! Like "The Cat House" online... Don't know if their website's back up though. I also think it would be fun to have a toy train going around a track in our ceiling. :-)

Thanks! They were on sale at Target very cheap last season. Not very well-made, but Jared managed to get them working alright. (The metal frame is wonky.) Maybe you can add them to your place? :-) They had white too, I think...
