I never thought of using sea glass for jewelry, but now that you mention it, with the right pieces it would look beautiful. (Maybe you'll find the pendant again, now that you've settled in your new appartment?)
Oh, I'm able-bodied and hate to walk in loose sand, I can only guess at how difficult it would be with crutches or a wheelchair... :-|
Generally, the more 'worn' and opaque pieces are best for jewellery, since this removes the sharp edges.
(TBH, I'm not even sure I'd find it upon unpacking everything. I think it's gone. But maybe I'll come across something similar again.)
There are wide tyres you can get for wheelchairs to navigate more difficult terrains. I just don't have them for my manual chair, and I'd require someone to push me in that anyway. I've never tried using my powerchair - that already has quite chunky wheels...I wouldn't try it on my own, that's for sure.

I wish I lived closer to the sea so I could collect some. But then, beaches are a challenge in a wheelchair.
