a) wildfire (25 km away)
FUN FACT! Mount Wilson Observatory didn't burn up so solar observations can continue for another 100 years.

b) potential car bomb (80 m away)
FUN FACT! Instead of waiting to see if they'd evacuate my building, I went to Universal Studios instead.

c) getting stabbed in

I read about the UCLA story not ten minutes before I checked LJ. I hadn't realized you were there, let alone in the same building. That was probably the quickest panic->relief transition I've ever experienced.
