L is for Hipsters

"Yes, hipsters may live in South (Gentrified) Brooklyn and yuppies may have condos in North (Gentrified) Brooklyn, but that doesn't matter - it's all about the state of mind - and a state of dress and other stuff. I always feel really old when I go into Williamsburg. COQ lives there and the times we have hung out with DJ's friends, they always want to go out there. Plus I feel like a giant cow. Those girls are like as thin as my pinkie finger. :/
I like Park Slope. It's very pretty and nice, and so close to the Park, which is great. I hate that it's got a "family" rep, but it is what it is, I guess.
I guess I'm a square for liking it.

I've never been to Brooklyn, but if Williamsburg/Park Slope are anything like walking through the LES, I would HATE it. I just wanted to ram every peg-legged hipster in the shins. It was so odd, because they've never done anything to me, yet I was so annoyed. And I felt old too (and I'm only 24!)! I don't fit in with that crowd, though -- not at all. I'm an Upper West Sider in attitude and appearance.

PS is very very different from Bburg. Bburg is ALL ABOUT THE HIPSTERS. It is the LES of Brooklyn.

Oddly enough, COQ used to live on the LES. A storefront apt that he had for many years, and got kicked out because they wanted to turn it back into a store.

I sometimes like the LES, but not really. It was one of the first places I was taken out when visiting the city. (I went to a party at COQ's and hung out with DJ and we went dancing at Lit)
