Merlin blinked, mouth falling open in shock and lips still glistening. "Did you just kiss me?"

Arthur glanced shiftily from side to side, and then broke out into a brisk walk away from Merlin. It quickly turned into a jog as he fled, as though Morgana was hot on his tail insisting that no, really. Just one more question about Owain's love life.

Merlin shakily lifted his fingers to his mouth, still feeling the fingers threading through his hair, a hint of teeth scraping his bottom lip and the hot swipe of Arthur's tongue. A grin unfurled on his face, and he was well aware he looked ridiculous standing in the middle of the doorway, mistletoe innocently hanging above his head.

Arthur couldn't well run away in the middle of the night, now could he?
