I've read it this morning and I am still pondering if I view it as a bittersweet ending as well. I realise it all depends on the interpretation of Draco's answer that he never thought about Blaise in that way.
I'm still not sure if this is a polite rejection or a sincere reply that he has never considered it but is willing to examine his feelings. It's obvious he is not ready for a new relation, hence the ring. But it might not harm him now this has happened to have a honest look at his feelings to consider where he stands. at the moment.

Thank you for your comment. Yes, it is as you say. Draco's answer is open to interpretation. Blaise has his own interpretation, which might or might not be accurate.

I put "bittersweet endings" as one of the prompts requested to indicate that this story doesn't have a conventional happy ending where the characters get together by the end of the story. I know there are some people who prefer their fanfics with unquestionably happy endings over more ambiguous endings, hence a warning of a sort.
