Oh MA, I adore this! Receiving such a rare ship that I've been hoping to read for a long time is such a treat. This was just the right mix of melancholic with a hint of tragicomedy served in funny details like Crookshanks hooking up with another Kneazle. I have a soft spot for Hermione feeling down on her luck - I suppose it's just always an interesting premise in contrast to her canonical successes. You've created such an atmosphere with the icy winter, the new year's dread and Hermione's pining for Hannah that's almost slipped under the radar because she's so focused on her gloominess. Hannah was so wonderful, I loved the way you write her! And her first line - please don't go - was everything, so much hopefullness and little fears packed into one moment.
