hereA home for me and you
Draco likes the solitude of the garden; when he was a kid, he really wanted to stay among the flowers all day, but he had appointments and classes. He likes it so much he wanted to burn down the Manor, but keep the gardens - his mother of course didn’t allow, even if she moved as soon as the next morning shown it’s first rays.
“You are going to get a cold.” Bill’s voice rumbles behind him, but Draco doesn’t turn.”Don’t be stubborn, Dray.”
Bill pulls Draco against his chest, arms coming to embrace him. They stay quiet for a bit and Draco almost melts back against him, but of course Bill has to open his yap and start talking again about the house. Draco doesn’t like living here, but he doesn’t imagine himself living anywhere else.
“Look, this place has more space than any wizard could need, and I get why you don’t want to burn it down. I wouldn’t stand to see the Burrow burn.” Bill stops and Draco turns into his arm, burrowing his face into Bill’s chest. “Love, can we just close this and build something smaller and maybe gentler our minds in the other side of the gardens?”
Draco stays once again quiet, breathing in Bill’s comforting scent. He imagines a house, and not a Manor, on the other side of the garden, he could maybe finally put a lake in the propriety and change the greenhouses closer to this new home. They could refurbish the Manor, Harry can help purge it from the evil vibes - his ridiculous words, not Draco’s.
“I want to have a lake, big enough for those ornamental carp’s you want.” Bill nods and touches a cold finger to his cheek. “Oi, Weasley!”
Bill laughs at his face, and Draco realizes that it is snowing around them, the finger was cold because Bill caught a snowflake in his hand. It’s the first snow since they moved into the Manor and Draco thinks he likes it. It’s probably the best moment they had since getting here.
“Don’t laugh so hard, I’ll bring your mother to help me and she will start nagging you again about grandkids and drape patterns.” Draco smirks, even if Bill shakes his head with a pleased smile.
He will deal with Molly, and Potter, maybe even George - just because George helps him prank Weasel. He won’t, no matter what, have another get together with the female Weasley or her stupid brother and his know-it-all wife.
“A lake it is.”
