Being away from mainstream television for more than a decade now I often wonder what I miss. Friend's suggestions are usually enough. Stumbled across Vulture's Best TV Drama thing which will be interesting. For now it made me put The Soprano's at the top of my Netflix DVD queue.

I took a class on "television as art and literature" and we watched a fair amount of The Sopranos. I loved it. I wrote my midterm on a study of masculinity that compared Xander from Buffy, Mulder from The X-Files, and Tony Soprano. Totally the highlight of my time at the U. We didn't get to finish the series but it's on my list as well.
