You keep saying things that… well, it's just good that you're all the way down there. ;) Will try to post more voice/video things. And the clicking … stays!!! :p
Congratulations. Just because it's popular, doesn't automatically make it bad.
I'm naturally adverse to anything that conceals data and enforces order.
This is one I've never quite understood. I administer Unix and VMS systems, and I'm as comfortable with SYS$COMMON:[SYSEXE]TCPIP$NETWORK.DAT;1 or /etc/hosts (in fact, currently beating up a vendor for corrupting the latter and then blaming us, but that's neither here nor there...), but anyway I have no problem whatever letting iTunes or iPhoto keep all of my music (currently ~130 gig) or photos (~60 gig) organized for me, and working entirely in the meta-data space. For the most part, I like the UIs and don't find any need to work at the file level. I have no idea why some people feel so differently, but I certainly know a lot of people who feel the way you do about the iSoftware. Perhaps just take an iPill and maybe you won't worry about it so much...
I've been anti-Mac for so long I'm not sure where it's all from. The core is the proprietary nature of the machines. I build, service, maintain and code apps on all the PCs I've ever owned. Can't with a Mac.
There's also the pretense, expense, and trendiness that have long been associated with the platform. Sure that's people more than the technology, but it's part of it.
As a nerd/developer/gamer, the software I want and the tools I use have been more PC. Even the Microsoft paradigm intuits me more readily. That's personal taste and experience.
Then there are my control issues. *snicker*
So yeah, it's personal. Going to call this a growth opportunity...=)
Lad Lad Lad!!!! Conta and Paul and I were just talking about your and Shadi and raiding a few days ago. Really miss you toooooo! Hope the computers are behaving for ya!! =)
iPrejudice! you should copy-right that! I agree, turn off the clicky noise! I got an iPod when I bought my Mac. It is a Mini, since discontinued and 4 MB. I didn't really use it much until recently. I do like it though. Welcome to the dark side!
