Warnings: Zidane is a brat None... yet.
9 in the morning was reasonable, even if Zidane's message had told him to arrive there at 11.
Actually, Zidane had been in the hallway even earlier. Lots earlier.

(They lied to me! Dammit all anyway...oh.)
The card was upside-down. Zidane blushed and his tail grasped his ankle in embarrassment.
(Idiot much? Right, I'll just try this again--)
He slid the card into the reader once again, but THIS time it was right-side-up.

Patience was never Zidane's strong suit, but he tried to wait it out. Really he did. He stood in front of the door being as patient as he could be. He fidgeted, checked the door handle, fidgeted, checked the handle again, looked around, fidgeted, checked the handle... In fact, it seemed like a week -- make that two weeks -- before the flickering stopped.
But the light shined red at him, just like before. Nothing had changed. But it had seemed like the door was going to open. Was this place playing around with him now?
He pulled his ID card out, wiped it on his pants, then inserted it into the card reader one more time.
The door opened!
Zidane started to walk in when a warning BUZZ blared out and the door slammed shut, smacking the toes of the startled genome's boots (and snapping his temper as well).
"RRRRRAAAUUUGH!" Zidane grabbed his card and jammed it in the reader. The door opened. He pulled ( ... )

And then there's movement, and an orange colored robot appears from behind a stack of boxes.
"Hey there! You must be the one who's come here to help today. Follow me, and you can get some warming equipment over on this wall."
The little robot zips around Zidane, and makes his way through the tiny maze to a wall where a couple warm jackets and pairs of gloves are hanging up.

The robot, smaller than Zidane himself, got the genome's attention immediately. It was direct, nonthreatening, informative -- heck, it was even polite! Zidane followed the robot's directions, exchanging his fancy jacket for a light parka and took a pair of warmer gloves, swapping his normal wear for the heavier handcovers.
"Okay, buddy, I'm ready to go! By the way, what should I call you? I'm Zidane, but I bet you knew that."
