Can't be the perfect time for settling, but is it ever? Looks like this whole town's jumpy down each other's throats over The Valentine Killer...that's what they'd be calling it 'cross the evening headlines, if this place had a printing press. I'll be sticking close to Eleanor, thank you kindly. No way I'm losing her again so soon.

A strange bunch ( Read more... )

If the folks around here don't mind it, maybe. Seems a shame to let such a fine thing as an upright sit and rot.

Strange bunch of people is right.
It's nice though. Variety is always good.

Glad to hear you getting that old piano back in order. Music would be a nice touch.

Feels nice. People are a little less noodley round the head, without all the splicin'.

To sooth the savage monsters among us? Hah...we'll see, we'll see. It's been so long since I've sang for any audience.

It's quieter here, too. Not the kind of place I'd expect myself to settle down, but nice.

And I'm sure everyone would love to hear you sing.

Where would any of us ever hope to settle down? It's not the worst of nightmares, maybe. But I've lived in the Hoovervilles, and in the Drop. World's End can't be too much harder living.

You can sing the blues? Sweet. I'm pretty good on guitar, if I could find one in this place. We should totally jam.

I used to be a headliner. And I'd like that fine, Miss Lolli, if you could.

I'll try to track one down. There seems to be a little of everything around here, why not music.

If you can't find one, I could always teach you 12-bar chords on piano?

Ah-- I, I don't mind at all! Although I'm not at the Lux right now... I'm sure the others wouldn't either...

You stay here usually? What's your name, child? Do you know the others who live here at the Lux?
