It's been some time, apparently, since I posted on this thing, but that's largely due to there being freaking summer class and work.  This semester involves an accounting class (not so bad; it's managerial accounting so it's generally logical) and a finance class (...which IS so bad; professor's not done the 5-week mini-mester deal before and it's ( Read more... )

you know what else is enlightening? the fact that capitalism includes recessions as part of the overall economic plan. so the more you try to STOP a recession, the worse it gets. which is why politicians should not be in charge of the economy.

on a separate note, I love how so many of my friends are libertarians. I'm not quite sure where this came from, or why I've surrounded myself with good people whose values and beliefs tend to be vastly different from mine. It certainly helps me realize a lot about myself, at least (i.e., I am SO NOT a libertarian).

I didn't realize you knew Esther tomanywolves , she and I used to attend JSU together long ago, and we've seen each other a few times around town since then, mostly due to Pony (Rei).

And I think we've killed a lot of this topic in discussion after class.

Yeah, Esther and I overlap via the Rocket city Costuming guild, except work + school punched her spare time in the gonads, so she doesn't make it too often.

You also caught one of the more random, rare intellectual posts spurred by reading Atlas Shrugged in approximately 3 weeks.

Kind of sad how it's basically some hard common sense, but no one thinks that way...
