Thanks to everyone who was concerned for me and welcome to all our new members! I once again have somewhat reliable internet access and will be able to resume running this community.

I finally finished Don Quixote and while I enjoyed it, it seemed to take me the last two months to read it! I don't know why...maybe the language was hard to pick ( Read more... )

Your review of Immortality sounds interesting. I read his last book, The Unbearable Lightness of Being and it moved me. I remember thinking that he liked unhappy endings and thought of happiness as fleeting moments. That doesn't mean I didn't like his writing, I did. It has stayed with me.

I am surprised to see the new book compared with Goethe for a story line. I never guessed the author going there.

of course you can! And that's not my review, btw, it's barnes & noble's or somewhere similiar. I have yet to pick up this book myself due to excessive schoolwork, but I'll def get around to it cause I loved the last one we read by him as well.
