I rather like the idea of this meme that aetheric posted, in which you share 25 random things about yourself. I included 11 brief facts in my user info, so obviously I'm a fan of the genre of randomness. So, I figured I'd give a shot at 25 more.

I love the picture of you in the kitchen with the cat!

I want to learn how to crochet again. A friend taught me once, I made a blanket, and that was it, LOL.

Thanks. :-) It's one of my favorite childhood photos.

A blanket is actually a really big project to learn on! Crocheting isn't a speedy process when you're just starting, and a blanket takes a long time (and a lot more patience than most people have to start).

2. My niece has a Japanese name and they're all blonde haired and blue eyed. It means "long and happy life" and is a really beautiful name that suits her perfectly ( ... )

I think my munchkin's name suits her really well, too. And hell, my birth name is French according to all those baby name things, and I don't have an ounce of French in me...but nobody thought that was weird.

I used to be a lot more open with my name and info than I am now. I'm too easy to track down, which never used to bother me, but that was before the negativity. Now I just do the best I can where I can.

Ah, at six months! I'm glad everybody (in utero, and owning of uterus, heh) was okay.

Crocheting is really easy to learn, you should give it a try. There are about a billion tutorials online.

1. awesome! I wondered why you changed it to the current rather than "Ju*lian" and now I know :D
2. EXACTLY.
6. :-( I never got to meet the one that I most wanted to meet, and now I can't remember zir name! Ze was a big black male -- was zir name Poison?
7. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!! (also, the big sweater and tights was my favorite clothing at that same age, haha!)
16. LOVE it.
19. OMG! I once read some psychological article on smiling that said if you can see both rows it means it's completely genuine (which is probably crap because it depends on the structure of the mouth) and I felt bad because my biggest smiles STILL didn't show the bottom row! but I think both-row smiles are adorable. (and I like mine too)
22. ditto, except I listen to my last.fm radio :D

Yeah, we started discussing relatives' names, and it came down to: We didn't want my mother's maiden, because even she didn't want it, because my grandfather was an ass (he died when I was a baby, I don't remember, but no one ever said anything nice about him), and the name meant nothing to us. We didn't want his mother's maiden name because (while it would have made her jump for joy) his grandpa is an ass who has always treated me like shit; no way were we honoring a segment of the family (as several aunts on that side are awful, too) that treats us poorly and wouldn't see it as the meaningful gesture it would have been. (Plus later it became a joke, because my husband took a stereotypically Italian first name, and his mom's maiden is such an ethnic Italian name...we decided that it was for the best that his name didn't sound like he should be spinning pizzas while he walked around. :-P) We chose his stepfather's name because his stepdad is the one solidly nice, loving person in the family, who's always treated him like a son and ( ... )
