Ok. Let's be honest, I have issues. This fic is my little reward to me, because frankly I have fought this plot bunny since 2006 (and after rather indulged it in 1997) and I told myself I could only write this story if I actually handwrote it first. So now that half a Moleskine notebook is full, its time to start posting

I like the tactical discussion. It's blunt, 100% Adama, and right on the money. If they just announce themselves everything will break loose at once and they'll have little (if any control). They can't just take over. Slow and easy is the way to go, but after a couple of years on ships, everyone military and civilian will want out of the tin cans sooner rather than later.
Roslin and Adama have some work to do.

Do note - they certainly found the liquior stores right away!
The tactical issues will sadly become unnecessary as the story advances but its actually a plot point I vaguely recall from Galactica 1980 - that Earth just wasn't ready and shit would go bad. Likewise - Bill just doesn't have the numbers to stage an invasion.
Captain Trips will make things interesting.

Not an A/R person, as you know, but there's something really sweet in the image of the two of them cuddling while talking tech.
So many open questions about what exactly is going on... (I assume the US government knows that they're there, right?)... but I'm sure you'll answer them soon. You know I enjoyed your Stand/ER crossover a lot, so this will be great. I'm very much looking forward to seeing Gaeta's POV, too. Depending on when this is set in the BSG timeline, his thoughts on desertation could be rather interesting. Even if he probably won't do it, of course, he's Gaeta.
Which leaves me with one question... what in the world makes you think the US are the wealthist nation? Do they teach you those lies in school? :D (SCNR)

I've always been intrigued by AU where that virus was uploaded, so that's cool. I've always wanted to do something with that, too. It makes a lot of sense here, of course, what with the story about the super bug.
And, yeah, see, there's that little island... barely worthy of mentioning... called Australia... but who cares about them.

I like the irony of wiping the CYlons out with a superbug and then.... :D
Australia? Pshaw. They don't speak English!(trust me, I have relatives there) And it's nothing but a dry desert! The Colonials would forced to mine opals and eat koala bears!
