Hi K .... I don't know who the original author was. A friend sent it to me via one of those emails that tells the receiver to pass it along to 5 friends.
Lots of memories there! and not a mobile phone in sight either but we never lost our friends on a weekend.... we made plans beforehand! maybe I was skinnier because there was no remote control. From a 'well over 30 one'
I love that!! So true!! We "over-30's" had it rough, didn't we? At the risk of totally dating myself, I also remember when I was a kid we had three (count 'em...THREE) television stations, and maybe one additional UHF channel. Anyone remember UHF channels??
I was laughing at my teenager when he was shopping for his first car, and I told him my first car had no power windows, no power door locks, and *gasp* no air conditioning!! He was absolutely, completely floored to think of a car, ANY car without air conditioning. He said, "What did you do when it got hot?" Answer: "We rolled the windows down...manually." Teenager: "What if it rained?" Answer: "We rolled the windows back up!" LOL!
