My brother put aside a number of issues he has with the Democratic party and threw his support behind Barack Obama with the goal of "getting God out of the White House." I'd certainly take that two-party system over the current, ever-shifting-right (almost typed "shitting," and probably should have left it) system currently in place, but I just can't buy this either/or, winner-take-all governance as the best we can do. The Liberal Democrats in England and Canada may never hold a majority, but the Conservatives and Labour/Liberals still have to consider them if they ever hope to get anything done.

By the way, do you remember the last time you took a breath of air you couldn't see? The smoke finally blew out of here, and I hope some relief reaches you soon. The house that housed us when we got to meet you burned to the ground.
