It is high time the Daily got a dose of one of my favorite S.P.D. characters, one of the ones who fascinates me above all the others... and he appeared for all of one episode.

I speak, of course, of Dru Harrington, Sky's best friend from the episode *SHAMELESS SELF PLUG* Idol, played by Dwayne Cameron who is better known to most of PR fandom as ( Read more... )

jack, brandon jay mclaren, space patrol delta, chris violette, sky, dru, dwayne cameron

I still like Dwayne Cameron here than I do as Tyzonn, honestly. I think its the hair that throws me off. That uniform looks extremely warm thou. Bleh. C Squad really get screwed don't they.

PS. Chris V has some nice teeth. <3

I think he looks better as Dru too. I don't like the uniform so much though; it doesn't suit him.

Lovely pics. :)

Yeah, he does not look good with the long blonde hair. :x

I remember one of the actors saying that all the uniforms were really hot, making it suck to have to shoot action scenes outdoors in the middle of the New Zealand summer. *g*

Beautiful screencaps, and you're right that Sky reacts to Dru more emotionally than towards anyone else in the series.

(This was a great ep, but somewhat spoiled for me by having seen Dekaranger's version which was so much more intense.)

Thanks :D I've already capped this episode before to make icons from, so I knew which shots/expressions to go for.

I liked the Deka version too, but Hoji also chose the absolute worst moment to break into Engrish. "Goodbai... foreva... ando eva!" Makes the scene where they delete him a weeeee less poignant.

I also found that more than a little jarring - but I think it's partly cultural. To the Japanese it probably doesn't come across as sappy as it does to us, plus the Engrish/accent wouldn't sound so off. You would think saying something in another language at a moment like that would seem odd to them - but I noticed a tendency in this series and for Hoji in particular to use English (sort of) at emotional or dramatic moments. (And they used a LOT of English in the series.) In all though, yeah, it kinda ruins the scene.

The part at the very end, when Hoji puts on Vino's bracelet, brings tears to my eyes every time I've seen it.
