I have been incredibly cranky for almost a week now, so I actually requested this episode. Why? Because if I'm going to be annoyed with something, I might as well be annoyed with something that deserves it. In case you can't tell, I do not like this episode. God, this episode is so confused about what it means to say.

Are we supposed to believe that Mike actually knew it was Trakeena from the start or something? Because if so he's being an idiot, but if not why is he both unaffected and flirting (badly)?

And if he isn't affected, why? Like is this supposed to be some nobility thing, or are we supposed to believe that he's the only gay in the villiage? Because I would frankly rather no queer people on Terra Venture than one poorly-coded token. (Which is obviously not what the show was aiming for but is about the only thing that might knock a couple scales off the episode. Might.)

There are plenty of acceptable episodes that could be written around Trakeena being upset that others are getting more attention than she is. This is about as far from one of them as you can get.

New headcanon: since without this episode, something still has to make Trakeena run away, it is that she is super offended that her father thinks she needs the cocoon's effects to be a competent overlord, so she's all ( ... )

Nothing about this episode makes any sense. I'm curious as to what the Gingaman equivalent was, but NOTHING MAKES ANY SENSE. Mike's behavior makes no sense, the unfortunate implications make no sense. Ugh.

Trakeena is still awesome, though.

I will say I loved Kendrix saving Mike and then helping with the attack. Now that is the kind of girl focus I love.

I'm pretty sure I've never watched this episode since it aired because even when I was ten, I wanted to kill it with fire.

We've never seen the "men besotted by Trakeena" thing happen around her before, so I'd like to write it off as some kind of pheromone thing that she's temporarily in the middle of because she's part bug (or something). Except that doesn't explain why Mike's not affected.

My headcanon is that the thing Mike was meeting the others to go do was a Power Rangers thing, and that that was why Kendrix and Maya are so annoyed about "Tracy" being invited along. Because I like that reason better than the only other option I can think of.

When it comes to Mike figuring out "Tracy" is Trakeena...it looks like he didn't completely. Only that doesn't fit with him apparently realizing she'd poison his drink. Maybe the fish warned him?

Judging from the Sentai footage, this episode should have been about Kendrix and maybe Kai's (Can't think of any other episode where he and Mike could get focus) friendship with Mike with Trakeena maybe attempting to brainwash Mike into her slave?
