A Brief Interlude

Aug 29, 2010 10:04

It's Power Morphicon weekend! I'm sure a large group of our readers are currently there, hanging out with the Rangers, having a blast. We're even down one recapper this weekend, with second_batgirl enjoying herself immensely surrounded by fellow PR fans and all the people that made that magical show happen ( Read more... )

I'm not going to link to it, because RAAAAAAAGE, but have you seen where TMZ dug up a producer who claims that no, the issue on set was that "David Yost was a pain in the ass"?

Not very good at covering his ass, that one.

I saw. Everyone's going on about what a respected man in the fandom that producer is, but I'm almost positive that he's one of the people responsible for ruining a good few years of David's life.

I just...there's too many people siding with him, and it's making me want to punch some people in the throat. But I'm a Power Rangers fan, we always take the path of non-violence. Even if sometimes we don't want to.

I haven't seen it, nor do I want to. I hate people like that... they need to just leave the poor man alone for crying out loud! They ruined enough of his life.

Thank you so much for this post; I never would have seen the interview without it, and it is amazing. Billy was my love, too, and still is - but I never knew very much about David, and this interview makes me admire him so much. I'm glad he seems to be in a good place now.

Oh! I'm glad you were able to see the interview, in that case! He really is a strong, unique, amazing individual, isn't he?

I made a similar post in my LJ, but I think you've done a far better job of expressing the appreciation we feel for our hero and just why this injustice makes us rage.

A friend of mine and I really want to get a fan-mail campaign together to make sure he gets the message, but we have no idea where to start. He said himself that he's always on the move.

We want to be louder than all the tabloid crap being thrown around about him right now, and the members of this fandom who think he's just a bitter opportunist trying to sabotage Saban. Seriously, I'm reaching unprecedented levels of rage.

...a sign that I'm a lost cause Yostie, perhaps? Anyway, I'm glad I read this. It's great to know other fans feel similarly.

There is no such thing as a lost cause Yostie! We stand behind him, just as we should.

I will head over to read your livejournal momentarily. I'm really excited to find other fans of David Yost, other people that want to support him.

I think your letter writing campaign is a great idea! I think the starting point would be to find out where to send the mail to... an agent? Does he have a production company? That kind of thing. Once you get that information (and I can try to help you look if you want), you'll just have to gather fans to write letters... get the word out on the boards and communities and whatnot.

I'll have to talk to second_batgirl but I'm SURE she won't mind if we devote a post to a letter writing campaign, and remind people of it in our regular recaps as necessary.

:) Damn right.

The only two fandom people I know who might be able to reach him are Lisa J from NPS and JC, the guy who was coordinating the Rangers' appearances at conventions for the last few years. They probably don't want to risk his address getting out and a wave of BS flooding in, but maybe someone in the know would be willing to collect and forward stuff?

I'll look for a direct contact line but I doubt it exists. If we find something, though, I'll let you know and get the ball rolling. Thanks for the support!

Very well said! This comment gets an A+ for brilliance and insight!

I don't know if you're the friend azora_mysta was talking about with her letter writing campaign, but either way, it's a FANTASTIC idea.

David really needs to know how much he's meant to us all these years and that we wholeheartedly support him.

I would love to help with this any way I can.
