haha, what brought this on? ;)

I admit it, Ive been bad. Ive been reading the speculations. Which is going to make it so much harder not to look for spoilers while I wait for my copy of the book..

I need to find a good spell that keeps me away from my computer for a week...

I actually planned on writing this yesterday (well, actually, I planned on writing this a few months ago, but I remembered to take my little paper with the few points I wanted to make with me yesterday. Yes, I actually thought about this beforehand, don't laugh!), but I do confess that you reminded me. ;-)

I really don't mind the speculations. It's the actual spoilers I fear, for some reason. I just want to keep all options open. *g*

I need to find a good spell that keeps me away from my computer for a week...

Pull out the plug and swallow it? :p Seriously, if I can't buy the book on the day it comes out for some reason, just the knowledge of how much less I will enjoy the book if I know how it ends will be enough to keep me away from the computer. It'll be a close thing, yes, but it'll be enough, because in the end, I really don't want to know.

Are you still going to read it?

For that, I need a good Snape characterisation and an at least mildly interesting resolution of the plot.

Oh, I agree whole-heartedly. And I've beed reading some speculation, but everything about Snape still makes the man a mystery. I just want something good, that I can take away from this series, once it's ended. You know?

I also want Sirius to be alive, but that might be asking a bit much.

but everything about Snape still makes the man a mystery.

And that's why we like him so much. :D And which is why the "truth", for as far as we'll get that, needs to be something good, because oh God, I don't want to have been holding my breath all this time for something, well, disappointing.

I don't think Sirius will come back to life, but we're obviously not finished with the Veil-thing, so maybe we'll see him in some shape or other?

Exactly. There's so must pressure for this next/last one. For me to be happy with it, Snape needs a little more clarification, and the Veil needs to make a little more sense. And the twins need to live. I kind of agree with you on Sirius's death-issue, but a part of me goes, "No body, no death." I still stupidly think he's alive, somewheres.

If all of that happens, I'll be happy. I'm not getting my hopes up, you know?

I figure that's the right way to approach it. Hope for nothing, so that if something good does happen, you can enjoy it to the full. :-)

What, they go and sit by the lake and talk? About what? That's the whole point of a meaningful relationship, isn't it, that there's communication? And we don't get a single logical scrap of conversation between them, which just plain sucks. Because honestly, I can't even imagine what Harry and Ginny were talking about, down there at the lake.

See, I think that's because there wasn't any conversation. I figure they went off to neck. Which, as you say, is damned annoying for the reader, who wants communication, emotional connection, something meaningful for these characters. Bleah.

You just want it to be Hermione. ;-)

(But, seriously, yes.)

I do want it to be someone with whom Harry's had emotional connection, yes! Hermione would fit the bill. But I was happily on the Harry/Cho 'ship too, since it had three books worth of development!

Yes, Ginny has always been around, but she's always been in the background. She appears to have a personal relationship with quite a few characters in the books, which actually only makes it stand out even more that Harry isn't one of them.

ooh you made me think now. Yep, I agree with you. But there are so many ways in which JKR could screw up the whole series for me with that last book... I'm really holding my breath.

Oh, God, yes. I figure the best way is to go in expecting her to screw everything up. That way, it can only be better (or, well, not worse anyway. ;-) )

They're cute, aren't they? *squishes them* I was actually laughing at yours, though I have no idea who she is. She looks familiar, though.
