I can't wait to come back and read this when I've got a moment! I read the book and then listened to the audiobook because I enjoyed the book so much. :D

Ok, I *LOVED* this. The book/audiobook just hit me in all the right places, but I hadn't though to look up any fic for it, and it probably wouldn't have crossed my mind to ever do so until I saw that you were writing this fic. And I purposefully avoided reading the workshop version of it because I wanted to savor the final draft. This is really just fantastic-- you've managed to completely capture the tone of the original while coming up with a new and heartbreaking victim of WWZ. (And I like the shout-out to Walking Dead, even though I've only gotten through season 1 so far!). This was a treat to read. I'm almost inspired to write my own addition. Just when I thought all of the possible angles had been presented, you surprise me with one more.

Thank you for this treat! I hope you'll revisit this fandom again!

Thank you so much! This story hasn't received a whole lot of comments, probably because I'm an unknown name in the WWZ fandom. Ironically, it was another fanfic that I agreed to take a look at that introduced me to the universe and led me to read the book.

As for The Walking Dead, the shout-out has to be to the comics, because WWZ begins to take place in 2005. Don't know if you noticed the Romero reference in "one more for the pile'.

Hey, this fandom is wide open -- we have the entire world at write about, and there are mentions to previous limited outbreaks in history. In fact . . . I might just write a few more if the ideas come to me.
