Remembering Art Widner (1917-2015)

Thank you for writing this beautiful tribute to my grandfather. He was truly a unique man, and I know how luck I am for the time we spent together. I also want to thank you for listening to him so patiently. Reading this gives me a deeper appreciation for why he loved attending the conferences. Apparently, they afforded him non stop opportunities to tell his many stories to genuinely interested listeners. While amongst his family, he mostly received eye rolls and “not agains” when he’d start on one of his lengthy tales. Oh what I’d give to hear just one more!
He had four grandchildren. We travelled to Gualala in April 2015. I think it was the first time we had all been together in decades, and it was a wonderful visit. He passed less than a week later.
I miss him every day.
Melissa Widner
