Leaving aside Pauline Baynes' brilliant manuscript-illumination pastiches for Farmer Giles of Ham, there was a darling diorama of The Hobbit done for the American Tolkien Society by an artist whose name I cannot remember; and, above all, this wonderful pastiche by Patrick Wynne identified as a woodcut from a 15th-century German edition of the Silmarillion, depicting the confrontation between Feanor and Fingolfin.
