Twas the night before the night before Xmas, and I'm wrapping a couple of presents and, thanks to gerisullivan, listening to Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Xmas trilogy (currently Christmas Eve and Other Stories). I'm almost getting into the mood, with a little help from a bottle of St Bernardus Christmas Ale. Cheers, y'all.

I had a sensawonda moment about "The Christmas Attic" a couple of hours ago. I was hunting down a YouTube version so I could post a link to a certain fannish email list populated by lots of Brits of the sort you'd find down at the bar. I found the link I was looking for, and played "The World That She Sees" just because it's such a favorite of mine. Then I noticed the next track was one I didn't remember by its title. Weird. Not totally improbable; I don't think of that album by individual tracks very often, but still weird.

That led me to discover the CD I had sent your way is quite likely different from the one I own! Wikipedia told me why:

The album was re-released in 2002 with a companion track to "The World That She Sees" called "The World That He Sees" inserted into the track listing directly after "She Sees" and having a length of 4:45. The last track "Music Box Blues" was also truncated to 4:57; this version was previously used in their film "The Ghosts of Christmas Eve."
And that's how this past night I heard a brand new (to ( ... )

Yep, both those "World" songs are on the album you sent me. I like them both. The third album in the trilogy, The Lost Christmas Eve, was released in 2004, at least according to the MP3 version that I downloaded. I can't remember when you gave me The Christmas Attic. Probably 2006 or 2007.

I have all three albums on my phone in case I want to listen to them on the way to Portland today.

merry festive to you. Weirdly two nights ago I found myself wrapping presents to the sounds of Sting on telly singing songs from his new Newcastle shipyards set play of horny handed working folk et al and feeling really festive. This is pretty close to everything I would have once loathed to the nth so I must be pretty mellow!
